Comprehensive Medical Evaluation
Before a personalized medically supervised weight loss program is created for you, you will undergo an in-depth medical evaluation. Our Medical Director, Dr. Koch, along with our expert medical staff, will perform the following: 1) A review of your overall medical history; 2) A review of all of the medications and supplements that you may be taking to determine if they are preventing you from losing weight; 3) Conduct a comprehensive blood test to check for insulin resistance, thyroid function, and other factors.
Using this information, Dr. Koch will create a program that will help you safely and effectively lose weight, and most importantly, keep it off.
Sound Medical Analysis
Dr. Koch will analyze various factors, including your body mass index (BMI), medical history, blood test results, body measurements, and blood pressure to accurately predict the minimum amount of weight you will be able to safely lose over a specific period of time.
Safe, Effective, Long-term Results
If we diet incorrectly, our body’s natural tendency is to burn muscle before it burns fat. This is why you gain back the weight after stopping a diet – muscle is instrumental in the fat burning process, and why improper dieting can be so unsafe.
Medically supervised weight loss is different. Our medical team will consistently monitor your body composition and will adjust your program accordingly. We will make sure that you are burning fat and not muscle. This monitoring will allow you to have an easier time keeping the weight off in the future.

Weight maintenance is much like weight loss. The principals are essentially the same: eat healthy foods and exercise regularly. And like weight loss, weight maintenance requires a long-term commitment. Indeed, the key to successful weight maintenance is permanent lifestyle changes.

Our Nutrition Education Director, Kay Melba, is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and specializes in nutrition education. Her classes will teach you that better lifestyle habits will reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity and more! You will feel better, have more energy and reduce your risk of other illnesses. Living healthy also elevates your mood, helping you to feel happy and have more self confidence, which results in a better quality of life.
